Nations League: TV audiences (Spain, Italy, France, Germany) higher than for Euro 2020 qualifiers

The four matches of the Spanish national team during the first edition of Nations League were watched by an average of 5.12 million viewers (average audience share: 32.3%) on the Spanish public TV channel La 1 (RTVE), while the 10 Euro 2020 qualifying matches drew an average of 3.58 million viewers (audience share: 23.8%), representing an average audience difference of +43% between the two competitions.

This audience differential in favour of the Nations League is also found in the other European Top 5 countries (excluding the United Kingdom where the competition was broadcast by the pay-TV operator Sky):

• Italy: +23.9%
- Nations League (4 matches): 7.73 million on RAI. Audience share: 33.1%.
- Euro 2020 qualifiers (10 matches): 6.24 million on the RAI. Audience share: 28.1%.

• France: +16.5%
- Nations League (4 matches): 6.77 million on TF1 or M6. Audience share: 29.5%.
- Euro 2020 qualifiers (10 matches): 5.81 million on TF1 or M6. Audience share: 26.3%.

• Germany: +14.6%
