Mediapro: "I hope we will have 4 million subscribers (in France) by 2024" (J. Roures)

"I hope we will have 4 million subscribers by 2024. beIN Sports (in France) has reached this figure (during the 2018 World Cup) and now has about 3.5 million. There are 4.9 million subscribers in Spain for football, so I do not see why we can not reach the 4 million in France which is a more populous and richer country," stated Jaume Roures, president and founder of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, in interview in Paris (FRA) with NPA Conseil on 21/11/2019.

"We talk to everyone to offer the best possible offer to football fans, and our model is not exclusive distribution by any single player. It is thought that this hinders the good development of football. This (Mediapro) is a model more adapted to reach the greatest number of fans," said Jaume Roures.

"We had the rights to LaLiga and the Champions League in Spain, we have the rights of the national championship in France and Canada and I hope soon in Italy (Lega Serie A decision expected on 25/11/2019).
