OL Groupe: exclusive negotiations with Reign FC (NWSL) to acquire the US women's franchise

"Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) has informed that exclusive negotiations have been held with a view to acquiring Reign FC, a founding member of the NWSL (National Women's Soccer League)," announced OL Groupe on 25/11/2019.

"This investment should consolidate OL's position as a major player in women's football globally and further develop the OL brand in the United States," added the holding company that owns Olympique Lyonnais, which aims to "finalise the transaction before 31/01/2020 in order to be operational for the 2020 season, which begins on 09/03/2020."

Olympique Lyonnais, whose women's team has won the last four editions of the UEFA Champions League and the last 13 D1 Arkema French championships, has made the acquisition of a women's football franchise in the United States a priority as part of its OL brand internationalisation project.
