City Football Group: Silver Lake acquires a 10% stake for $500m (€454m)

Silver Lake, a technology investment fund based in the United States, has acquired "just over 10%" of City Football Group's (CFG) "post-investment value" for $500m (€454m), announced the holding company for investments in football assets (professional clubs, infrastructure, innovation), and therefore valued at $4.8bn (€4.4bn), on 27/11/2019.

"Silver Lake become the second major partner in the group. Around 12% of CFG equity remains held by a consortium of Chinese institutional investors led by China's leading media and entertainment conglomerate CMC Inc.," said the shareholder of seven football clubs around the world (see below), including Manchester City FC (Premier League).

"Khaldoon Al Mubarak (chairman of City Football Group) has indicated that the proceeds from the investment will be used by City Football Group to fund international business growth opportunities and develop further CFG technology and infrastructure assets," said the holding company.
