Werder Bremen: a record turnover of €157.1m and net profit of €3.5m for the 2018-19 season

SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co. KGaA, a commercial company wholly owned by the Sport Verein Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) association, posted a record turnover of €157.1m for the 2018-19 financial year (from 01/07/2018 to 30/06/2019), up 34% compared to 2017-18 (€117.1m), according to the Bremen (GER) club at its general assembly on 25/11/2019.

"The strong increase in Group revenue is primarily attributable to significantly higher income from TV rights and transfers. At the same time, however, we were also able to increase earnings in the areas of matchday operations, advertising and other income. SV Werder is well positioned to meet the sporting and economic challenges," said Klaus Filbry, CEO of the club.

Werder Bremen also posted a positive net result for the fourth consecutive season, which amounted to €3.5m in 2018-19, compared to €500,000 in 2017-18.
