Formula E: over €200m in revenue in 2018-19 (+50%) and first positive EBITDA (€1m)

"ABB FIA Formula E Championship racing ahead with revenues exceeding €200m and increasing more than 50% on last season," announced Formula E on 27/11/2019. The group posted the first positive EBITDA since it was founded in 2013, €1m according to the international press on 12/09/2019. Sponsorship revenue also increased by 25%.

"The number of fans watching on television has risen 24% year-on-year, with a cumulative TV audience of 411m across 13 races (in 2018-19)" and over "400,000 spectators through the turnstiles," continued Formula E.

"The number of video views has grown for a second season in succession, coming in at 61% more than last year and passing the 850 million mark. With 72% of followers aged under 35 and 42% of videos being viewed by fans under the age of 25, Formula E is among the highest-performing sports platforms on the planet in terms of percentage breakdown of young fans," said Formula E, which has an cumulative total of 2.91 million fans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as of 28/11/2019.
