Bundesliga: an average of €2.67m from sleeve sponsorship for the 18 clubs in 2019-20 (+9%)

All 18 Bundesliga clubs have a sleeve sponsor for the 2019-20 season as of 29/11/2019, one more than in 2018-19. On average, Bundesliga clubs receive €2.67m annually from sleeve sponsorship, an increase of 9% compared to 2018-19 (€2.45m). Excluding the extreme values (FC Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg), the average falls by 25% to €2m per season.

The median value contract (as many values are above and below) is €1.5m per season. In total, the Bundesliga clubs receive €48.05m from sleeve sponsorship, compared to €39.3m the previous season (average based on 16 clubs). The average duration of a contract is 3.53 seasons.

FC Bayern Munich has the highest value sleeve sponsorship deal, receiving nearly €15m per season from Qatar Airways. The airline succeeded Hamad International Airport (Doha airport managed by Qatar Airways) as a sponsor of the club. Borussia Dortmund, which receives €7.8m from Opel (German car manufacturer) and FC Schalke 04, which receives €5.5m from DHL, complete the podium.
