City Football Group: acquisition of 65% of the Indian club Mumbai City FC (Indian Super League)

City Football Group (CFG) has acquired a 65% majority stake in the Indian football club Mumbai City FC (Indian Super League), according to the holding company for investments in football assets (professional clubs, infrastructure, innovations) on 28/11/2019.

Mumbai City FC is the eighth football club in which City Football Group invests after Manchester City FC (Premier League), New York City FC (MLS), Melbourne City FC (Hyundai A-League) and Sichuan Jiuniu FC (China League Two, Chinese third division), as a majority shareholder, and Yokohama F. Marinos (J.League), Club Atletico Torque (URU, Primera Division) and Girona FC (LaLiga SmartBank), as a minority or co-shareholder.

"The deal will see Mumbai City FC benefit from the Group's commercial and football know-how, whilst at the same time delivering a new and exciting element to the CFG global commercial platform," said City Football Group.
