2.Bundesliga: HDI (insurance) extends naming rights to Hanover 96's "HDI Arena" until 2021-22

HDI, a German insurance company, has extended its partnership with Hannover 96 (2.Bundesliga) for the naming rights of the "HDI Arena" (49,000 capacity, formerly Niedersachsenstadion) for 2020-2022, announced the German club on 27/11/2019.

HDI is a stadium partner, the second level in the German club's sponsorship hierarchy. The German insurance company has held the naming rights for the "HDI Arena" since an agreement covering the 2013-2020 period, with an option for three additional seasons, signed on 19/04/2013. The naming agreement is estimated by the German media to amount to €2.6m per year.

HDI has also been a sleeve sponsor of Hanover 96 since 2017-18, the season in which the club played in the Bundesliga, following an extension of the agreement between the two companies on 06/08/2017. Another 2.Bundesliga club, 1. FC Heidenheim 1846, also extended the naming rights agreement for its stadium on 26/11/2019 (see below).
