Italy: the 20 Serie A TIM clubs publish open letter "Together Against Racism"

"We have to publicly recognise that we have a serious problem with racism. It’s a problem that we have not done enough to combat over the years. Images of players being racially abused in Italian football have been viewed and discussed all around the world this season and that shames us all. No individual should ever be subjected to racist abuse - inside or outside of football - and we can no longer stay silent on this issue or wait for it to magically disappear," stated the 20 Serie A TIM clubs as well as the Lega Serie A, who published an open letter addressed to "all those who love Italian football" and titled "Together Against Racism" on 29/11/2019 (see below).

"A strong message to say 'basta' ('enough'), to eradicate a serious problem that afflicts the Italian stadiums and must be eradicated once and for all. Through an 'Open letter to Italian football fans' , Juventus, with all the other clubs in Serie A, is actively engaged against racism," stated the Turin club, winner of the last eight editions of the Italian championship (from 2011-12 to 2018-19).
