Premier League: incoming chief exec David Pemsel (Guardian Media Group) resigns the appointment

"Following media disclosures earlier this week and discussions with David Pemsel, the Premier League has today accepted David's resignation and he will no longer be joining as Chief Executive," stated the Premier League on 29/11/2019.

According to multiple UK media outlets, David Pemsel's position became "untenable" in the viewpoint of many Premier League clubs following details of his personal life being made public in recent weeks. Pemsel has also officially left Guardian Media Group, who named a new interim chief executive, Anna Bateson, on 29/11/2019.

"Richard Masters will continue as interim chief executive. No further comment will be made at this stage," added the Premier League.
