Belgium: Pro League launches the tender for its domestic TV rights from 2020-21

The Belgian Pro League is launching the tender for its domestic TV rights from the 2020-21 season "with the possibility of offering a bid for four or five seasons," said the body on 02/12/2019. "This tender includes for the first time all the competitions of Belgian professional football (Jupiler Pro League, Proximus League, Supercup, Croky Cup and Women's Championship, the Women's Super League) and all the packs are for the first time proposed as 'neutral platform' (all modes of broadcasting are possible)."

"The neutrality option of the platform allows new rights holders to better meet, in collaboration with the Pro League, the wishes of fans, young and old, through an innovative offer. This could be a traditional TV offer, but also for a separate OTT package, which can be compared to a Netflix subscription that you can watch via your smart TV or app," said Leander Monbaliu, director of media rights and legal affairs at the Pro League.
