Celta de Vigo: laying the foundation stone of the new sports city of the club (237 000 m2, €45m)

The laying of the foundation stone of the new sports city of Real Club Celta de Vigo (LaLiga Santander), located in the city of Mos (Galicia, ESP), 10 kilometers southwest of Vigo, took place on 30/11/2019. More than 1,000 people attended the event, in the presence of Carlos Mouriño, president of the Galician club, and local elected officials.

"The sports city of RC Celta will make Galicia an international reference, being the first in Spain to have large leisure areas, in addition to the nine football pitches and the stadium for the reserve team with a capacity of 4,000 spectators, the project will include spaces for other sports and non-sports activities, nature activities, concerts and music festivals, the University of Sport (in collaboration with the University of Vigo, very close), as well as the creation of an ecosystem dedicated to startups in the field of sport," said RC Celta.

The delivery of this infrastructure, which will cover 237,000 m2, is scheduled for July 2020. The total cost of the project is estimated at around €45m.
