UEFA: Video Assistant Referees to be used at the Euro 2020 play-offs (on 26 and 31/03/2020)

The UEFA Executive Committee has agreed to use Video Assistant Referees (VAR) during the Euro 2020 play-off matches scheduled for 26 and 31/03/2020 (see programme below) and during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar (subject to approval by FIFA, the organiser of the competition), announced UEFA at the end of it's Executive Committee meeting in Nyon (SUI) on 04/12/2019.

The UEFA Executive Committee has also decided to change the format of the Women's Champions League from 2021-22 (see "further reading") by introducing a group phase (four groups of four teams) with two paths: one for clubs that win their national league (champions' path) and another path that will be results based (league path).

The draw procedure for the league phase of the 2020-21Nations League, based on the new formula adopted by the UEFA Executive Committee on 24/09/2019 in Ljubljana (SVN), has also been approved (document available to download). The draw will take place in Amsterdam (NED) on Tuesday 03/03/2020 at 18:00 CET (see League A pots below).
