IOC: Gianni Infantino (FIFA) among three board members proposed for the session on 10/01/2020

The executive board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has proposed three new members for the session scheduled on 10/01/2020, it announced after its three-day of meeting in Lausanne (SUI) on 05/12/2020:
• Yasuhiro Yamashita (JPN), born on 01/06/1957, president of the National Olympic Committee of Japan.
• David Haggerty (USA), born on 10/07/1957, president of the International Tennis Federation (ITF, London, UK).
• Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI), born on 23/03/1970, president of FIFA (Zurich, SUI).

"These three personalities would bring a wide and varied set of skills and expertise that will be extremely beneficial for the IOC," stated Thomas Bach (GER), president of the International Olympic Committee.

The vote will take place during the 135^th IOC Session to be held on 10/01/2020 in Lausanne, together with the Winter Youth Olympic Games. Adding these three members would bring the total board membership to 101.

The executive board also approved a list of 30 candidates for election to the IOC Athletes' Committee at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (document to download).
