Spain: FIFA to sanction FC Barcelona with a transfer ban for 2014-15 season

The Disciplinary Committee of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football) has punished FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) and the RFEF (Spanish Federation) for breaches relating to the international transfers and registration of ten players aged under 18, indicated the international regulatory body, on 02/04/2014.

FC Barcelona have been punished with a "transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods" (summer 2014 and winter 2015) and a fine of 450,000 Swiss francs (about €370,000). The Spanish club was found to be in breach with Article 19 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players when ten minor players, registered with FC Barcelona, played in competitions for the club between 2009 and 2013. FC Barcelona has a period of 90 days to regularise the situation concerning the minors players.
