LaLiga Santander: Konami (publisher, JPN) becomes an official partner of RCD Mallorca for 2019-20

Konami, the Japanese publisher of the eFootball Pro PES 2020 video game, has become the "official football video game partner" of RCD Mallorca (LaLiga Santander) for 2019-20, announced the club on 12/12/2019.

Konami has the status of official partner, the second level in the Spanish club's sponsorship hierarchy. RCD Mallorca will be among the most popular clubs of the Spanish league in Japan in 2019-20 (a cumulative audience of 1.22 million), according to Spanish media on 12/12/2019. Japanese player Takefusa Kubo has been on loan from Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) to RCD Mallorca since the beginning of the season.

As part of the partnership, RCD Mallorca players have had their faces scanned in 3D in order for them to be digitally reproduced on the game. The agreement with Konami will be the club's third largest deal, after those with Betfred (sports betting, main shirt sponsor, €1.2m/season) and PayPal (online payment solutions). FC Barcelona has also chosen to partner with Konami (2016-2023).
