Liga BBVA: FC Barcelona appeals their transfer ban for 2014-15 season

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) have appealed the transfer ban for the 2014-15 season handed down by the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) disciplinary committee for breaches relating to the international transfers and registration of ten players aged under 18, on 02/04/2014.

"The statute that FCB allegedly infringed upon is intended to protect minors from the actions of sports clubs that incorporate players without ensuring the required attention necessary for proper development, FCB (FC Barcelona) itself does guarantee the development of its players through the model of La Masia (the training centre of the club)," announced the Catalan club, which published a 14 point argument against the sanction on 02/04/2014.

"FCB forms people before athletes, a fact that has not been considered by FIFA, which applies a penalty criterion that ignores the educational function of our training program," said Barca.
