FIFA Presidency: "The probability that I will run is very high" (Joseph Blatter)

"The probability that I will run (for the FIFA presidency) is very high," said Joseph Blatter, president of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association since 1998, to the German magazine, Sport Journalist, on 03/04/2014.

The Swiss leader, born on 10/03/1936 (78 years old), is currently in his fourth four-year term (2011-2015) as head of the international regulatory body. "I always thought I would stop in 2015. But we must carry out the reforms of FIFA and be sure that my successor will ensure that football remains a universal sport," stated Joseph Blatter, to the French newspaper, L'Equipe, on 15/05/2013.

The FIFA president said in the April 2014 edition of Sports Journalist (produced by the Association of German sports journalists) that he would not officially nominate himself for the presidency of the international body for 2015-2019. "But if the members of the FIFA federations ask me (to stand), I would not say no. I want to continue my mission, if my health permits," said Blatter.
