Tennis: overall prize money of $158.7m to be distributed to players for the 2020 season (+13%)

The Association of Tennis Professionals will pay a total of $158.7m (€143.2m) to players taking part in the ATP Tour, according to the Association on 20/12/2019. This prize money is up 13% compared to 2019. The 2020 season begins with the first edition of the ATP Cup, a competition involving national teams in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney (Australia), on 03/01/2020.

"The ATP has also released its 2021 calendar, comprising 64 ATP tournaments in 30 countries, in addition to the four Grand Slams and the Davis Cup. The 2021 ATP season will launch on 1 January with the ATP Cup and will culminate in November with the first edition of the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, where the season finale will be hosted through to 2025," said the body. The 2020 and 2021 calendars each include 9 ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, 13 ATP 500 competitions, 38 ATP 250 tournaments, as well as the Next Gen ATP finals, the ATP Nitto Finals and the Laver Cup.
