LaLiga Santander: José María Durán (previously at Getafe CF) appointed CEO of RCD Espanyol

The board of directors at RCD Espanyol (LaLiga Santander) have appointed José María Durán as the new CEO of the Catalan club on 30/01/2019. Durán succeeds Roger Guasch, whose departure was announced on 16/12/2019 (see below).

José María Durán, who previously served as CFO of RCD Espanyol from September 2014 to February 2016, will leave Getafe CF (LaLiga Santander), where he has been CEO since April 2016. He will officially take up his new position on 08/01/2020.

"With a degree in business administration and management from Esade (business school in Barcelona, ESP), Durán is one of the most experienced executives in Spanish football. In his professional career he has stood out for being a promoter of projects and management of companies with an entrepreneurial spirit and oriented towards generating value for the shareholder. Furthermore, he is a specialist in managing complex environments, refocusing business and developing markets," said RCD Espanyol.
