"CAF president Ahmad Ahmad and His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, president of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), signed an agreement today that will see the CAF Super Cup take place on 14/02/2020 in Doha, Qatar's capital," announced the Confederation of African Football on 20/12/2019.

The Super Cup match will see Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), winners of the 2018-19 CAF Champions League take on Zamalek (Egypt), winners of the 2018-19 CAF Confederation Cup," added CAF.

The 2020 edition of the CAF Super Cup will be the second consecutive CAF Super Cup to be played outside the African continent after the 2019 edition, which was also held in Doha. On 29/03/2019, the Thani bin Jassim Stadium saw Raja Club Athletic (Morocco) beat Espérance de Tunis (2-1) and drew more than 18,000 spectators.
