Argentina: adidas succeeds Nike as equipment supplier of Boca Juniors for 10 seasons (2020-2030)

adidas has become a partner (first level) and equipment supplier of Club Atlético Boca Juniors (Superliga Quilmes Clásica, Argentinian first division) for 10 seasons (2020-2030), announced the Argentinian club on 01/01/2020. The German brand succeeds Nike, who supplied Boca Juniors for the 1996-2020 period (24 seasons).

adidas was previously the equipment supplier for Boca Juniors between 1979-80 and 1992-93, including for Diego Maradona during his first spell with the club (1981-82). Taking bonuses into account, the deal will bring in between $10-18m dollars per season for the Argentinian club (between €9-16m), according to international media on 01/01/2020. Nike will pay the club €7m in 2019-20.

Under the agreement, Boca Juniors will receive revenues from the sale of shirts and equipment both domestically and abroad, according to international media. The club currently has no sales outlets in Europe or the United States (as of 02/01/2020).
