"The Mediapro (2020-24 Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 domestic TV rights) deal is an opportunity for French clubs to invest in the new necessary requirements (business talent, marketing resources, digital planning) for the 'global entertainization' of French football. The arrival of a new international player such as Mediapro, beyond the financial manna promised to each club, must be beneficial. Discussions with Jaume Roures' teams can only lead to a better collective awareness for everyone in French football. The only question that matters is how Ligue 1 clubs will invest this new revenue. The worry is that clubs might simply spend more in player trading, looking at short term sporting goals, and then most of the new money going into the hands of agents or higher…
