Serie A TIM: Genuino (blockchain) collaborates with ACF Fiorentina to authenticate club shirts

Genuino, an Italian-American startup specialised in blockchain solutions, is working with ACF Fiorentina (Serie A TIM) from 2019-20 to "to certify the authenticity of Fiorentina's match worn jerseys," announced the club on 05/01/2020. "For the first time in the world a club will value its most important asset through blockchain technology," said the club.

"The first tests happened during last month's ACF Fiorentina - FC Internazionale Milano, played on 15/12/2019, and ACF Fiorentina - AS Roma, played on 20/12/2019. During these matches some of the ACF Fiorentina jerseys that have been prepared and worn by Viola (purple, colour of the club) players, have been certified by Genuino thanks to blockchain technology: each jersey has been kitted with a dedicated chip and each one of them has been linked with a unique and unchangeable code to certify the authenticity," added Fiorentina.

"The jerseys that will then be certified during the remaining of the 2019-20 season, will be made available by Fiorentina to its fans, supporters and collectors through a charity auction," continued the…
