Nike has become the equipment supplier of Liverpool FC (Premier League) from 2020-21 as part of a "multi-year partnership" which will begin on 01/06/2020, announced the English club on 07/01/2020.

The agreement will cover five seasons (2020-2025), and is worth an estimate £30m (€35.2m), an amount to which an additional 20% royalty on net revenue from the sale of the club's products will be added, according to British media on 25/10/2019.

"As official kit supplier, the agreement will see Nike outfitting the men's, women's and Academy squads, as well as coaching staff and Liverpool FC Foundation," said Liverpool FC.

Nike succeeds fellow US equipment supplier New Balance, which has been supplying the club since 2015 under an agreement running until the end of 2019-20 and worth £45m per season (€50.3m). New Balance had hoped to be able to extend their contract beyond the current season by virtue of a provision in the contract allowing them to match Nike's claims, but their appeal was rejected by High Court of Justice of England and Wales on 04/11/2019 (see below).
