Serie A: Russian energy supplier, Gazprom, not interested in buying a share of AC Milan

"Gazprom is not holding any talks with AC Milan (Serie A) concerning a possible sponsorship or purchasing of the club's shares," said Sergei Kupriyanov, a spokesman of the Russian energy supplier on 03/04/2014.

The Berlusconi family, owners of Milan AC, plan to sell a 20-30% stake in the club, announced the co-managing director, Barbara Berlusconi, on 02/03/2014. Visits are planned to the Middle East, Asia and the United States to meet with potential investors.

Several Italian media outlets, including the Gazzetta dello Sport, have been suggesting since 2010 a possible capital investment by Gazprom, due to the ties between Silvio Berlusconi (AC Milan's owner) and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Gazprom owns Zenith Saint Petersburg (Russian first division) and is the shirt sponsor of Schalke 04 (Bundesliga).
