FC Bayern Munich: former German international goalkeeper Oliver Kahn joins the executive board

Oliver Kahn, a former German international goalkeeper, has joined the executive board of FC Bayern München AG, the commercial company that runs the professional football club FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) on 01/01/2020, announced the Bavarian club on 07/01/2020.

"The plan is for the 50-year-old (Oliver Kahn) to work alongside CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge over the next two years and learn the ropes at the top of the record champions. Once Rummenigge's contract expires on 31/12/2021, the three-time World's Best Goalkeeper will then take up the office of CEO," said the club.

Oliver Kahn played for Bayern from 1994 to 2008. He played 557 Bundesliga and 103 Champions League matches, won eight German league titles, six national cups, one Champions League and one UEFA Cup (now the European League).

• Oliver Kahn has 86 caps as a goalkeeper for the German national team, with whom he won Euro 96 (in England) and reached the final of the 2002 World Cup (co-hosted by South Korea and Japan).
