Africa: Sadio Mané (SEN), Asisat Oshoala (NGA), Algeria and Cameroon crowned at the CAF Awards 2019

The Senegalese player Sadio Mané was crowned African Player of The Year and the Nigerian player Asisat Oshoala crowned Women's Player of The Year 2019 at the 28^th edition of the CAF Awards held in Hurghada (EGY), on the shores of the Red Sea, on 07/01/2020.

Sadio Mané (Liverpool FC), who received his award from CAF president Ahmad Ahmad, received a total of 477 votes, ahead of Liverpool FC teammate Mohamed Salah (EGY) with 325 votes and Algeria's Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City FC) with 267 votes.

On the women's side, FC Barcelona Femení's Asisat Oshoala was rewarded for the fourth time, matching the record set by her compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha. She received 351 votes, 30 more than Cameroon's Ajara Nchout (Valerenga Fotball Damer, NOR) and 104 more than South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana (Beijing BG Phoenix, CHN).
