Lega Serie A: Paolo Dal Pino elected president, succeeds G. Miccichè who resigned on 19/11/2019

"The Assembly of the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A, assembled on 08/01/2020, elected Paolo Dal Pino as president," this is the brief content of the official press release n° 136 of the Lega Serie A, signed by the special commissioner Giancarlo Abete, in Milan (ITA) on 08/01/2020.

A former leader in the telecommunications sector, Paolo Dal Pino obtained 12 out of 20 votes (simple majority needed: 11 votes), compared to 7 for Gaetano Miccichè, the former president who had resigned on 19/11/2019 (because the conditions of his original election on 19/03/2018 were disputed), and one blank ballot. In the previous elections, on 16/12/2019, Paolo Dal Pino had obtained 13 votes, but the qualified majority needed at that time was then 14 votes.

Born in Milan in 1962, Paolo Dal Pino began his career in 1986 in the Fininvest group of Silvio Berlusconi, before taking up management positions in publishing and telecommunications at Mondadori, Kataweb (Espresso group), Telecom, Seat Pg, Pirelli and Wind, according to Italian press.
