Spain: over 100 million subscribers on LaLiga's social networks in more than 15 languages

LaLiga passed the 100 million subscribers mark across all social networks at the beginning of January 2020, announced the Spanish Professional League on 09/01/2020.

"Passing this digital milestone is an achievement which should be framed within LaLiga’s wide-reaching international growth strategy. We’ve gone from having 3.9 million followers at the end of the 2013-14 season to over 100 million today, a record figure reached with an average of 47,000 new followers per day," said Alfredo Bermejo, digital strategy director at LaLiga.

LaLiga has 22 accounts on 12 different social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Weibo, WeChat, Douyin, Toutiao, Odnoklassniki, VKontakte and Line), on which it communicates in more than 15 languages (including Hebrew, Bengali, Swahili, Wolof and Lingala).

Spain is the country with the largest number of LaLiga subscribers (7 million), ahead of Indonesia (5.2 million), India (5.1 million), Mexico (5 million) and Brazil (4.7 million).
