eSports: BT (telecoms) signs its first partnership in the sector with Excel Esports

BT (British Telecom), a British telecommunications group, has become the main and exclusive partner of Excel Esports from 2020 under a multi-year agreement, according to the British team on 10/01/2020. This is BT's first eSports agreement.

BT becomes thus acquires the naming rights of the club, which will now be known as "BT Excel". BT also becomes the main shirt sponsor of the British team for games played on the League of Legends (Riot Games) video game in the European Championship (LEC) as well as in the British League (UKLC).

"BT will also provide world class connectivity to Excel to help them train and perform at the highest levels. Excel's 2020 jersey will feature in an upcoming BT campaign and be made available for the public to purchase from the Excel Esports merchandise shop at excelesports.com from 10/10/2020," said the team based at Twickenham Stadium (London, offices and training centre).
