eSports: SL Benfica (Liga NOS) launches first team by recruiting a player on the FIFA 20 video game

Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Liga NOS) has launched its first eSports team with the recruitment of Brazilian player Henrique "Zezinho" Lempke (19), who will play on the FIFA 20 video game (published by EA Sports), according to the club on 16/01/2020.

Henrique "Zezinho" Lempke and Benfica participated in the qualifiers for the FIFA 20 Global Series which took place in Atlanta (Georgia, USA) on 16/01/2020. Fans of FIFA and eSports will be able to meet Zezinho in person at Stade de la Luz (64,165 capacity) at the beginning of February 2020.

"Innovation is part of our DNA, Sport Lisboa e Benfica could not be indifferent to the growth of this virtual industry, and specifically eSports. This is a first step in a bet for the future that will allow a greater involvement of our young fans in an activity that generates much passion and interest," said Miguel Bento, commercial and marketing director of SL Benfica.
