"The UEFA Foundation for Children's pioneering efforts to use football to drive social good are improving the lives of more than one million children across some 100 countries," said UEFA, which presented its Activity Report 2018-19, on 15/01/2020.

45 new projects and 22 initiatives for development through sport were proposed in 2018-19 by UEFA's national football federations and associations.

"Having had the opportunity to be personally involved in various projects, I have seen with my own eyes that football is an extremely powerful tool," said Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA and chairman of the UEFA Foundation for Children, in the report's foreword.

In 2018 the UEFA executive committee decided to increase the annual funding for the Children's Foundation to €6.8m, over double the amount for the previous year.
