American sporting goods brand, Nike, launched green shirts for its four partner clubs in Liga MX; Pachuca, Atlas, Club America and Xolo (Club Tijuana), to show support for the Mexican national team as part of its advertising campaign for the 2014 World Cup on 06/04/2014.

Each kit maintains the traditional design of the respective Mexican clubs and simply changes the colour, like the stripes of the Pachuca uniform, which are done in two shades of green, as opposed to the traditional colours of blue and white.

Nike introduced a similar initiative for five Brazilian clubs (FC Santos, Corinthians, Bahia, Internacional Porto Alegre and Coritiba) on 04/02/2014. The major difference is that the Selecao is under contract with Nike, while the Mexican team will be equipped by Adidas during the 2014 World Cup.

  • At the 2014 World Cup (Brazil from 12/06 to 07/13/2014), Mexico (Group A) will face Cameroon (13/06/2014), Brazil (17/06/2014) and Croatia (23/06/2014).
