Germany: "2020 will be a landmark year for the DFL" (Christian Seifert, CEO of the DFL)

"2020 will be a landmark year for the DFL. The national media rights (2021-2025) will be awarded in a few months' time, and will literally point the way forward in many respects," said 
Christian Seifert, chairman of the DFL executive committee and CEO of the DFL, at the German League's 13^th New Year Reception, in Offenbach, near Frankfurt (Hesse, GER) on 14/01/2020.

Christian Seifert gave a lengthy speech in front of 350 guests, including DFB president Fritz Keller, Rainer Koch, first vice-president of the German Football Association, numerous heads of the 36 Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs, and sports, media, political and business representatives.

"Our aim must be for more than one German club to regularly feature in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and the Europa League," stated Christian Seifert. Three German clubs have qualified for the 2019-20 Champions League Round of 16: FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. Three more will feature in the Round of 32 of the Europa League: Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg.
