2022 World Cup: "first-ever joint sustainability strategy" (FIFA/Qatar)

Five sustainable development commitments have been defined by FIFA and Qatar, which presented the "first-ever joint FIFA World Cup sustainability strategy," on 21/01/2020. The objectives are as follows:
• "to develop human capital and safeguard workers' rights;
• to provide an inclusive tournament experience;
• to catalyse economic development;
• to deliver innovative environmental solutions;
• to set an example of good governance and ethical business practices."

The document (available to download) also details 22 other objectives related to sustainable development. "Over 100 organisations were consulted in the development process to ensure robust understanding of concerns and opportunities," said FIFA.
