FAANG Deal Tracker: list of acquisitions and partnerships and activities in sports

The term FAANG directly refers to refers to the American groups in new technologies and the internet: Facebook (social network), Amazon (e-commerce and content), Apple (computing technology), Netflix (video on-demand and content), and Google (Alphabet group, internet).

By extension, the term now includes other new internet and technology groups (and telecom) such as social networks Snapchat (Snap.inc) and Twitter, the search engine Yahoo (now Altaba since the finalization of its acquisition by Verizon Telecommunications Group in June 2017), Netflix, or sometimes Microsoft (computing technology). Previous acronyms that stand for these companies have included GAFA, GAFAN and/or GAFAM.

These companies use sports content to drive traffic and audience to their platforms (YouTube for Google, or the live streaming service Facebook Live for video), or to find new followers and subscribers (Netflix and the VoD platform Amazon Prime Video, for example).
