"There is a wonderful challenge to accelerate the transformation of Lega Serie A into an internationally competitive 'media company', where 'media company' does not mean making a channel, but working as a content producer that distributes on platforms that have nothing to do with normal television," said Paolo Dal Pino, the new president of Lega Serie A, at the end of the first general assembly held under his presidency on 20/01/2020.

A former leader in the telecommunications and publishing sector, Paolo Dal Pino became president of the Italian professional league by obtaining 12 votes out of 20 versus 7 for Gaetano Miccichè, the former president who had resigned on 19/11/2019 (due to the conditions of his election on 19/03/2018 being disputed), plus one blank vote on 08/01/2020. "Between the 20 clubs, there may be different points of view, but the League must focus on the common good," he said.
