Sheffield Utd FC: McCabe's appeal rejected, Saudi Prince Abdullah to own 100% of the club

The Civil Division of the Court of Appeal for England and Wales has given its decision and dismissed the appeal by Sheffield United Limited (SUL), a British company controlled by Kevin McCabe, against the High Court of Justice Business and Property Courts of England and Wales' judgment ordering SUL to sell its shares (50%) in Blades Leisure Limited (BLL), which owns 100% of Sheffield United FC (Premier League), to the benefit of UTB LLC, which already owns 50% of BLL and is owned by Saudi Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, according to the English club on 21/01/2020.

The Court's ruling closes the dispute between Kevin McCabe and Prince Abdullah over the interpretation of an agreement binding them since the Saudi Arabian's acquisition of shares in the club (Sky Bet League One at the time) in 2013. Prince Abdullah had acquired 50% of Blades Leisure Limited in return for an investment in the club of £10m (€12.7m at the time). Each of the parties claimed an option to acquire the remaining 50% to control 100% of the club for just £5m.
