Women's World Cup 2023: FIFA inspection visits to the four official host candidates from 29/01/2020

Colombia, followed by Brazil, Australia/New Zealand and Japan, is the order chosen by FIFA for its official inspection visits to the national member associations that are official candidates to host the Women's World Cup 2023 (deadline: 13/12/2019), announced the International Federation on 24/01/2020.

The schedule is as follows:
• Colombian Football Federation, from 29/01 to 01/02/2020.
• Brazilian Football Confederation, from 03 to 06/02/2020.
• Football Federation Australia and New Zealand Football, from 17 to 22/02/2020.
• Japan Football Association, from 24 to 27/02/2020.

"The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 builds on the success of the record-breaking 2019 edition and it will be the first Women's World Cup featuring 32 teams, as unanimously decided by the FIFA Council (on 31/07/2019)," said body.

  • The FIFA Council confirmed at its meeting in Shanghai (CHN) on 24/10/2019 that FIFA would invest $1bn (€906m as of 27/01/2020) in women's football during the 2019-2022 cycle, after agreeing to make an additional $500m (€453m) available compared to the funding already planned.
