Bundesliga: turnover of Mönchengladbach down by 25.3% in 2013, €515,800 profit

Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bundesliga) achieved a turnover of €91.4m during the 2013 financial year, down €31m (or 25.3%) compared to the record sales achieved in 2012 (€122.4m), the club announced at its members general meeting on 07/04/2014.

The German club recorded in 2013 €1.1m in earnings before tax, down €14.1m (- 92.8%) compared to the previous year (€15.2m). In 2013, Borussia made a net profit of €515,800. "This is a very good figure. We are very proud to show positive accounts, that is extremely important. We will reinvest the money we earned in football," said Stephan Schippers, CEO of the club on 07/04/2014.

"It is important to recognise, and it is a sign of quality that in spite of having our revenue drop by €30m, that we were able to make a profit. This proves that, on the whole, we are on the right path" said the Borussia Mönchengladbach leader.
