Serie A TIM: Sorare (blockchain), crypto-digital cards featuring AS Roma players

Sorare, a French blockchain startup, has signed a licensing agreement with AS Roma (Serie A TIM) from 2020 to integrate the club's players on Sorare's fantasy leagues platform. AS Roma joins Societa Sportiva Calcio Napoli (agreement on 22/01/2020) among the Italian clubs present on the French startup's platform.

Sorare offers a platform that allows football fans to collect, exchange and play with digital goods related to football. As part of the agreement, the startup will be able to issue crypto-digital cards representing players from the three teams. The Paris-based startup has entered into 33 licensing agreements with European clubs since its launch in 2018 (6,200 cards sold as of 19/12/2019).

"These cards are freely exchangeable on the Sorare market place. Blockchain technology is used to guarantee the authenticity and 'digital rarity' of these cards. Each player, for a given season, is represented by a Single card (worth up to €1,600), Super Rare (10 copies), Rare (100 copies) or Common (unlimited copies, worth between €1 and €5).
