San Francisco 49ers - Kansas City Chiefs (20-31), the 54th edition of the Super Bowl at the Hard Rock Stadium (65,326 capacity) in Miami (Florida, USA) drew 99.9 million viewers in the USA, on the free-TV channel Fox (102 million including Spanish-language broadcasting on the pay-TV channel Fox Deportes and streaming on the Fox, NFL and Verizon platforms) on Sunday 02/02/2020 (kick-off at 18:30 Eastern Time, 12:30 CET D+1), according to data from the Nielsen Institute.

The most-watched annual event in the United States (all programmes combined) posted a 1.73% increase in audience compared to the 53rd edition (98.2 million viewers on CBS) won by the New England Patriots versus the Los Angeles Rams (13-3) at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (Georgia, USA) on Sunday 03/02/2019 (kick-off at 18:30 Eastern Time). This is the first increase in attendance for a Super Bowl in five years (see below).
