Italy: Lega Serie A officially launches the "eSerie A TIM", the league's first eSports competition

The Lega Serie A has officially launched the "eSerie A TIM", the first eSports competition of the Italian pofessional football league on the football video game FIFA, announced the Italian League on 05/02/2020.

The "online tournament open to all fans, will allow thousands of gamers to have fun trying to win the title of Italian Champion," added the Lega Serie A. The new tournament, which was developed in collaboration with sports marketing agency Infront and the Italian eSports events organiser PG Esports, will be played exclusively on the PlayStation 4 (Sony Interactive Entertainment) video game console.

"The tournament will be divided into two phases: first a direct elimination selection phase and then a real championship, divided into a round of play-offs and then the grand final.
