Premier League: Neil Adams becomes new manager of Norwich City

English manager, Neil Adams, has been appointed manager of Norwich City (Premier League), announced the club on 06/04/2014.

He replaces Chris Hughton, sacked after the seventeenth defeat in thirty-three matches, on 04/05/2014, against West Bromwich Albion (0-1). The former Irish international (53 caps between 1989 and 1991), had held the position since 07/06/2012, and is the ninth manager to have been sacked in the Premier League in 2013-14.

Neil Adams had previously led the club's U18 team.

After 33 matchdays, Norwich City are 17th in the Premier League with 32 points (8 wins, 8 draws and 17 defeats). They are just ahead of Fulham (27 points), who are in the first relegation spot.

Nine changes in management in the Premier League since the start of the 2013-14 season:

  • Norwich City: Chris Hughton, 04/06/2014, replaced by Neil Adams
  • Fulham FC: René Meulensteen, sacked on 14/02/2014, replaced by Felix Magath
  • Swansea City: Michael Laudrup, 04/02/2014, replaced by Garry Monk
