2019-20 Copa del Rey: 4.1 million viewers in Spain for Athletic Club - FC Barcelona on Cuatro

Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) - FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) quarterfinal of the 2019-20 Copa del Rey (1-0), drew an average of 4.14 million viewers on the Spanish free and private TV channel Cuatro (Mediaset España), on Thursday 06/02/2020 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

This figure represented an audience share of 25.2% and placed the free and private TV channel at the top of the Spanish television market for prime time on 06/02/2020.

The free-TV group Mediaset España acquired the domestic broadcasting rights to the competition for the 2019-2022 cycle from the RFEF on 08/11/2019, before sub-licensing the rights for at least 65 matches per season, including "a minimum of 50 matches from the competition exclusively, alongside 15 co-exclusive matches, each season with Mediaset" to the OTT platform DAZN on 05/12/2019.

• A new format for the Copa del Rey from the 2019-20 season (all rounds, with the exception of the semi-finals, will be played over a single match) was approved by the RFEF on 29/04/2019. The number of participants has also increased from 84 to 116 clubs.
