Bundesliga: Nent Group extends TV rights in Scandinavia and acquires them in Iceland (2021-2025)

The free and pay-TV group Nent Group has acquired the broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga for Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland for the 2021-2025 cycle on 10/02/2020. The matches will be broadcast on Viaplay, the group's streaming platform, while certain others will also be broadcast on the group's free TV channels, according to the DFL.

Nent Group already holds these rights for the 2018-2021 cycle in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. In Iceland, where Nent Group is not yet established but is expected to launch its Viasat streaming offer in 2020, the rights are currently held by SportTV.

The agreement comes four days after the agreement between Nent Group and the Premier League for the broadcasting rights to the English league in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark for the 2022-2028 cycle. The rights were acquired for £2bn (€2.38bn), or £333m (€393m) per season, according to British media.
