"OTT platforms are proliferating like butterflies, but there will be very few winners. There is bound to be consolidation, a regrouping over time," said Guy-Laurent Epstein, director of marketing at UEFA, during the second day of Global Sports Week 2020, at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris (FRA) on 07/02/2020.

Guy-Laurent Epstein took part during a debate: "Is Live Dead? Exploring the Future of Sports Content", alongside Luis Vicente, CEO of the pay-TV group Eleven Sports, and Benjamin Schwerin, vice-president of partnerships at Snap Inc, an American camera and social media company (and owner of Snapchat).

"Live sport is still very much alive. It's the way it's been broadcast for many years that's dying. The future of live sport needs to be fan-centric, personalised and capture all the emotions of a matchday," said Luis Vicente.

"Now, whether it's streaming, whether it's on television for young people, that's probably the second screen, the first screen is really their phone. I think the challenge for all of us, is what we put on the phone that people can consume and enjoy, that is…
