Brazil 2014: 90% of English Twitter users will follow the World Cup

90% of English Twitter users will follow the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, 12/06 to 13/07/2014) according to a study by GlobalWebIndex, a British consumer behavior analysis agency, published on 08/04/2014.

87% of users surveyed said that they will follow the competition live on TV, and that 79% of them would do so with others. "This figure highlights how live TV is inherently social, conversational, and in the case of the World Cup, global. This all contributes to make Twitter the perfect platform to extend fan fervour by bringing football supporters [together] wherever they are," said the study.
